That Hildegard Knef's self titled album, Knef, produced by Hans Hammerschmid is a bomb is old news but I am somewhat surprised her other releases does not get the attention they deserve. This is a great starting point for exploring her talents and with Hans Hammerschmid, Gert Wilden and Kurt Edelhagen in charge of the musical backing expect it to be funky.
